Jewelry boxes come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. Some people even have locks on their jewelry boxes.

Why would someone put a lock on a jewelry box? To protect what is inside, because it is valuable. The most special part of a jewelry box is what it holds inside. Who cares what the box looks like on the outside?

Today is Mother's Day. Like jewelry boxes, mothers don't all look alike. Some are short, and others are tall. Some are thin, and many others share my love for ice cream! A mother may have black hair, red hair, or even blond hair. It doesn't matter what your mom looks like. It is the love inside her that is important.

A mother's love is so special that when gentleness is described in the Bible, it is compared to a mother caring for her children.

How do moms show their love for us? Moms tell us about Jesus, put bandaids on hurt knees, give us hugs when we feel bad.

Mother's Day is an important day, because moms are very special. Don't forget to wish your mom a Happy Mother's Day. And when you do, be sure to thank her for all she does for you, and for her faith that she shares with you.

Can we pray?

Lord, our moms are all different, but we thank you for the special love they have for each of us. Amen.

I have a neighbor lady that I love very much. Sometimes I like to do something special for her, just to show her how much I like her. I might give her a gift, or take her out for lunch, or maybe buy her some flowers. She really likes it when I buy her flowers!

Flowers or a gift is a nice way to show someone you love them. But do you know, what is even better? It is better to show someone how much we love and care for them by the way we treat them every day. You know, maybe when they don't feel good, a visit from a friend might be better than medicine. When someone is sad, us and I'll might brighten their day. Maybe you have seen someone at school all alone, without many friends. Maybe if you take time to say hello and talk with them. They will know that someone cares about them. They won't feel so alone. Kindness can be much better than a gift.

Jesus was always kind and helpful to people that He met. One day he was at the home of Simon Peter. Peter's mother-in-law was in bed very sick with a fever. Jesus went into the room where she was, and took her by the hand, and helped her out of bed. When Jesus touched her, the fever went away! Later that night, people brought everyone who was sick, so that Jesus could heal them. The Bible says that the whole town was outside the door. And Jesus healed all the sick. Jesus showed His love by caring for those who needed His healing touch.

Remember, when you want someone to know how much you care for them, it is not just buying gifts and flowers. It's by showing them kindness each and every day, just like Jesus did.
Can we pray?

Dear Jesus, You showed us how to love. May we follow your example, and show our love by acts of kindness toward others. Amen.

What would you say if Jesus was to walk into the room right now? Would you say, "Oh, hey, Jesus, how are you doing?" Or would you go crazy? Would you start yelling, "Jesus, Jesus, Yea Jesus!"

Today is Palm Sunday We celebrate Palm Sunday once a year. We remember the day, over 2000 years ago, the Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Not a big horse, or a chariot, just a small donkey. People were so excited that Jesus was coming but they lined both sides of the road, just like they do today to watch a parade. They took their coats off and laid them in the road, and they laid palm branches along the road also. It was as if they were rolling out a red carpet for him. They waved palm branches and shouted, "Hosanna! Hosanna!"

Today, we're going to have a parade in our church. We are going to make noise and get excited, just like they did on that day. We are going to waved palm branches and shout "Hosanna".

You know, we should be this excited every day. Why? Because Jesus is with us every day. He is with you throughout your day every day, and he is standing by you every night as you sleep.

In the morning when you wake up and think about what you're going to do today, where you will go, people would you will see, things you will do, remember, Jesus is with you right then. Maybe you'll want to shout "Hosanna!"
